New airport in Athens

The new Athens airport was a pleasant surprise. I had seen the old airport, which was truly a pit, full of smokers and baggage handlers that routinely stole items out of luggage. The new airport, built for the Olympics obviously, is a work in progress but seems up to European standards. At least now you can walk off the plane into the airport as opposed to walking down, getting on a bus and then walking back up to the terminal building. Very good English signage and well designed, but there are still parts under construction.
